イスラム教徒になってから正直好きだった食べ物が食べられなくなったことが結構あります。笑
多くの方がご存じの通り、イスラム教徒は豚肉を食べません。
理由として豚は不浄な動物として創られため、食べるものではないからです。
私はイスラム教徒になる以前から豚肉はあまり好きではなかったので、特に豚肉を断つことに抵抗はありませんでした。鶏肉と牛肉は食べれるし、意外と楽勝じゃんと思っていたけれど、、豚肉のエキスって沢山食品に含まれているんですよね！！涙
特に以前は気にもしなかった成分、、、それがゼラチン！！！！！！！！！！
ゼラチンって本当に日本食品は入ってるものが多い！汗
食品を固めたり、触感を出したりとゼラチンが万能なことは知っていましたが、、そのゼラチンの多くが動物性で出来ており、豚から作られていることが多いと知りました。
おいおいちょっとまってくれ、だったら私の好きなグミ系のお菓子はほとんど食べれない！！これを知った時すごく悲しくなったことを覚えています。。笑
大好きなグミのブランド、HARIBOはもう食べれないなと思っていた時、なんとハラルのHARIBOがあることを知りました！！
＊ハラルというのは”許されている”という意味なので、ハラルの商品はイスラム法に基づいて製品されたことを言います。
でもハラルマークがついたHARIBOグミを日本で見かけることはほとんどないので、イスラム圏や東南アジアに行ったときに買いだめをしていました！
夫の家族に会いにパキスタンに行く時も、ハラルマークのついたHARIBOを買いだめ♪
パッケージの裏を見ていると、ハラルのHARIBOは”Made in Turkey"でトルコの工場で作られているようです。調べてみるとトルコはイスラムの国なので、国内で作られる商品はハラルで作るように法律で定められているようです。やばい、トルコ最高！
トルコ工場で作られているHARIBOはハラルマークがパッケージになくても、ハラルであるようです！！これを知ってから私の世界は広がりました（感動）
日本のお店でもMade in Turkeyと記載があるHARIBOが売っているじゃないですか！フレイバーに限りがありますが、国内で買えるだけでも嬉しい！
現在アメリカの東部に住んでいますが、HARIBOの状況は結構一緒でMade in Turkeyのハリボたまに売っています♪ アメリカはビーガンやベジタリアンも多いので、ゼラチン入ってないグミも種類が豊富でグミラーとしてはありがたい限りです。日本も最近そういう商品増えてきましたよね。

Since I reverted to Islam, there are a few things that I was not able to consume anymore to be honest.
As most people know, Muslims do not eat pork. The reason is because swine were created not to be consumed by people but for other purposes.
Even before becoming a Muslim, I did not really like pork, so I thought it was going to be an easy transition for me to stop eating pork as I still can eat chicken and beef. However, oh boy was I so wrong! Many Japanese food products contain pork or pork related ingredients!!!!!!!!!!! The biggest obstacle I found was GELATIN!
There are so many products that have gelatin in them. (cry)
I knew that gelatin works as solidifying and giving more textures of food but most of gelatin in Japanese products are made from animal gelatin and it is usually from pork.
So wait…that means, the gelatin in my favourite sweets like gummies also contain PORK!?
I remember I was so sad when I found out I can no longer consume gummies. Lol
My favourite gummy brand is of course HARIBO, so I thought I will not be able to eat HARIBO again.
BUT luckily, I found out that they sell halal certified HARIBO in some countries! It was almost impossible to buy HARIBO with halal mark on them so I used to stock them whenever I traveled to Muslim countries or even in Southeast Asia. I looked forward to buying HARIBO gummies when I and my husband visited his family in Pakistan as well.
When I took a look at the back of the package, halal HARIBO gummies were manufactured in Turkey!
Turkey is indeed a Muslim county so many products are produced as halal. I LOVE TURKEY!!!!haha
Also, I found out that even without halal mark on the package, as long as the gummy is manufactured in Turkey, it is halal. This information had made me so happy since then (happy cry)
I found some of HARIBO sold in Japan say “ Made in Turkey” so I was able to buy and eat my favourite HARIBO in Japan!! There’s limited flavours of course, but I am still very happy!
Currently, I live in the east coast of the US, and the situation is pretty much same as Japan. I can find halal HARIBO at some stores. What even better is, since there are many vegan and vegetarian people, there are many gummies that have no gelatin in them!! There are also similar products in Japan as well these days.
